The Rockets and Heat squared off sunday afternoon trying to get back on the right track after both teams have been struggling mightily. The Heat, losers in 5 of their last 6, came away on top, ending the game on a 15-0 run to make the final score 113-104, handing the Rockets their 3rd straight loss…
Ray Allen powered the Heat in the 4th, scoring 14 of his 25 points in the 4th quarter to add to Dwayne Wade and Lebron James’ 24 points of their own. Late in the 4th, a 3-pointer by Allen launched him past Allen Iverson for 21st on the NBA’s All-Time Scoring list.
Somewhat of a surprise came just 20 minutes before tip-off when the Heat announced that they would be starting Greg Oden at center, the former #1 pick from the 2007 NBA Draft. Oden put in 13 minutes with 3 rebounds coming in the game’s first 3 minutes, but had no points.
James Harden finished with 30 points for Houston, and Dwight Howard added 21 points and 14 rebounds of his own.
Heat are only 3 GB from the Pacers now … Probably won’t be enough to catch them , which will make the more-than-likely Eastern Conference Championship between the two teams all-the-more interesting …
