3 & out: NFL Coaching Carousel

First Down: Who’s out?

Lions: Jim Schwartz is out. Detroit fans rejoice. Schwartz has been head coach since 09 and has gone 29-48 with one playoff appearance and obviously a first round loss. Detroit has a very talented roster, so this position is a gold mine if a competent coach can take the reigns.

Bucs: Greg Schaino is gone after two years. Will likely return to college. Bucs GM also gone.

Redskins: With all of the RG3 drama and a 3-13 record Shanahan is fired.

Vikings: Leslie Frazier is fired after 4 seasons. Front runner is rumored to be Broncos OC Adam Gase

Browns: Chudzinski is our after 1 year. Gase is another candidate to take the job.

Texans: Gary Kubiak was fired mid-season in Houston. Texans were picked to be superbowl contender going into the season and finished 2-14.

Second: Who’s not sure?

Dolphins, Titans, and Raiders are all on the fence about making a coaching change this week. Tennessee has expressed interest in Bill O’Brien from Penn State. By the amount of fires around the league it is very likely O’Brien is an NFL coach next season, along with the Bronco’s Adam Gase. Other coaching replacements include a bunch of NFL assistants.

Third: Who would Chad Hire?

If I were a GM I’d hire David Shaw. Stanford is a clear stepping stone into NFL greatness.
