Kanye West the Subject of an Academic Textbook to be Released in March

Kanye West the Subject of an Academic Textbook to be Released Soon

Like him or not, Kanye has had a huge impact on our culture over the past ten years. On March 6, we will see the release of The Cultural Impact of Kanye West written by Julian Bailey, an academic textbook centered around West’s influence on our culture outside of just rap. Read the synopsis below:

“The ability of popular art to offer societal critiques and challenge received ideas has been recognized throughout history. Through rap and hip hop, composers, singers, and entertainers have recently provided a voice questioning and challenging the sanctioned view of the times. This book offers an in-depth reading of the works and cultural impact of Kanye West. Looking at the moral and social implications of West’s words, images, and music in the broader context of Western civilization’s preconceived ideas, the contributors consider how West both challenges religious and moral norms and propagates them.”

All a bunch of bullshit to me … I’ve never really valued Ye’s opinion – you lose all credibility to me when you make such a name for yourself having the biggest ego known to man

I guess it depends on the tone of the book, but I wonder how ‘Ye will take this… Will it boost his ego even more? Or will it send him on an enraged twitter rant criticizing the book?
