“I cut my heart open let it bleed on bass. But I can’t be stopped, like I bleed the breaks” RockieFresh

The Fresh Veggies tape hit the web earlier this week. For those not familiar with the two: Rockie Fresh is a chi-town kid that recently joined MMG after some solid mixtapes (Driving 88, Electric Highway, etc). Casey Veggies an LA dude, had his breakout tape (Life Changes) released at the top of 2013. The two young guns linked up through their sponsor puma to put out a 10 track tape. The collabo is not the most ideal, but works well on some songs. Veggies shines on up tempo beats, but his style and flow seem to fade when the beat slows. Rockie is more consistent, but his laid back style never really wows. Juicy J and Kirko Bangz drop song quick bars/hooks and Hitboy produces on top of some lunice and jalil beats.

There are some nice tracks, but each of them are better on their own. It will be interesting to see how their careers develop. Will either of these two be able to make a jump to the next tier of hip-hop? I’ll predict Veggies is gone in 2 years. Rockie lasts a bit longer with the help of MMG but never makes it off the bench.

Overall: 6 out of 10

Best Tracks: “I’ve Been Workin”, “Perception:Love All Around Me”
